Application Requirements
Main eligibility requirement for application to Turkiye Scholarships is being a citizen of a country other than Turkey. Other requirements are as follows:
Minimum Academic Success:
- %70 for Bachelor’s Degree applicants
- %75 for Master’s and PhD degree applicants
- %90 for Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy applicants
Minimum Age:
- Being under 21 for Bachelor’s programs
- Being under 30 for Master programs
- Being under 35 for PhD programs
Application Process
Application Process for the Türkiye Scholarships is very easy. Applicants must submit their applications from the website of www.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr during the timeline that is announced by the same website.
Required Documents for application are:
- A valid ID or Passport
- A recent Photo
- National Exam Scores
- Diploma or temporary certificate of Graduation
- Academic Transcripts
- International Exam scores (GRE, GMAT, DELF if required by the chosen university)
- Language test scores (if required by the chosen university)
- A research proposal and an example of written work (for PhD applicants only)
Evaluation and Selection Process
Evaluation and Selection Process can be broken down into 4 stages namely
Preliminary assessment
At this stage applications are reviewed according to their compatibility with the basic requirements such as grades, age etc.
Shortlisting
At this stage applicants are shortlisted for interviews based on their criteria such as academic standing, qualifications etc.
Interview
Interviews are carried out in more the 100 countries by the experts and academicians. Typically, interviews last between 15-30 minutes where committee asks about introduction, document check, motivation of candidate, academic knowledge, goals etc.
Selection
After the meticulous examinations of applicants, final list of winner of scholarships is formed and announced to students.
Student who win the scholarship receives an e-mail from the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (organizer institution of the scholarship program). Upon acknowledgment, they must go to Turkish Embassy or Consulate in their respective country in order to apply for a student visa in Turkey.
Scope of the Scholarship
Turkiye Scholarship is a very comprehensive program, and it aims to cover all the basic needs of the prospective student. The scope of the program’s coverage is as follows:
Bachelor’s Degree Students
- University and program placement
- Monthly Stipend: 800 TL per month
- Tuition Fee
- Once-off Return Flight Ticket
- Health Insurance
- Accommodation at the University Dormitory
- One year Turkish Language Course
Duration of awards is 1+4 or 1+6 years, depending on the duration of the program.
Master and PhD Degree Students
- University and program placement
- Monthly Stipend: 1100 TL per month (Master) and 1600 TL per month (PhD)
- Tuition Fee
- Once-off Return Flight Ticket
- Health Insurance
- Accommodation at the University Dormitory
- One year Turkish Language Course
Duration of awards is for Master Students 1+2 years and for PhD students 1+4 years.
There is also Short-Term programs which offer variety of supports for students. These are:
Success Scholarship Program (1 year)
Bachelor’s: 450 TL per month
Master:600 TL per month
PhD: 900 TL per month
This scholarship does not cover accommodation and other benefits
Research Scholarship Program (3-10 months)
3000 TL per month
This scholarship does not cover accommodation and other benefits
Language of Instruction
While there are universities where the mean of instruction is English, most universities in Turkey are Turkish thought.
